CHILDREN FILMS JURY COMMITTEE

Andreas Procopiou

Nicosia, Cyprus native Andreas Procopiou is an animator at Pixar Animation Studios in California’s San Francisco Bay area. He is a 1999 graduate of Florida-based Ringling School of Art and Design, where he studied during the initial years of their computer animation program. Andreas began his career with Retro Studios in Austin, Texas, as an animator for video games – a job he says taught him the most about physical animation. After a few short years, Andreas was offered the opportunity that would fulfill his life long dream: that of working in CG film animation. Andreas worked as an animator for Blue Sky Studios during the production of Ice Age®, Ice Age 2®, and Robots®. With feature film experience under his belt, Andreas set out for California where he first worked for Sony Imageworks on Surf’s Up. In 2008, after nearly 10 years of applying to the most famous studio name in CG animation, Andreas was hired by Pixar Animation Studios. His first movie credit there was for the legendary film Up. Andreas has just completed work on his ninth Pixar film – and looks forward to many more to come.
